Muskogee law enforcers arrested a man Thursday after finding drugs and distribution material inside his apartment.
Officer Matt Burleson said the City/County Aggressive Crime Enforcement team arrested Doug Simmons after finding marijuana, scales and baggies inside his apartment.
Simmons wasn’t at home during the service of the search warrant, but was arrested later in the day at Whittier Elementary School. Melony Carey, Muskogee Public Schools spokeswoman, confirmed Simmons was a Whittier employee, but declined further comment, saying it was now a police matter. Burleson said Simmons was a janitor at the school.
Simmons was booked into the Muskogee County/City Detention Center on complaints of possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Simmons will appear in court at 3 p.m. today for a bond to be set.
