A reward has been renewed in connection to the brutal Thanksgiving Day 2011 shooting of a Wagoner man, according to a media release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
The OSBI is offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men who shot Kenneth Wallace Payne, 74, last year.
Payne was shot multiple times and left for dead at Toppers Gun Range. Payne said he was shot in the left leg, knocking him to the ground. When he grabbed his cell phone to dial 911, the gunman placed a gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
The men who shot Payne stole several items from him, including at least four guns, as well as a gun caddy.
The OSBI released a sketch of two possible suspects last year, as well as images of one of the guns and the gun caddy.
The image of the stolen gun is of a rare Mitchell Black Lightning .22 magnum rifle. An OSBI press release said the gun is “unique looking,” and they hope someone will recognize it and notify them.
The sketches show two men, one approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 160-165 pounds and the other approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. The first man is described as being possibly a Hispanic male with a light complexion in his late 50s. The second man is described as being in his mid-to-late 30s with dark, curly hair.
