Muskogee City Council – at a glance 10.9.12

— During its regular meeting Monday, the Muskogee City Council approved:

• Claims for all city departments Sept. 17 through Sept. 28.     

• Agreement with Rural Water District #6 for the sale of treated water.

• Agreement with Rural Water District #10 for the sale of treated water.

• Final payment to Cook Construction & Crane Inc., in the amount of $144,681.05 for water system improvements eastside 12-inch water line loop.

• ODEQ Permit No. SL000051120639 for the rehabilitation of sanitary sewer lift station 11 by installation of two 260 gpm self-priming pumps and all appurtenances to serve the 48th Street area.

• Lowest and best bids from King Carpentry in the amount of $33,055 for two structures; Tom Crabtree in the amount of $11,975 for one structure and Simpson Carpentry in the amount of $18,900 for one structure to repair a total of four structures through the Muskogee Rehabilitation and Revitalization Program.

• Ground lease for Lots 8, 9, and 10 all in Block 1 of Hangar Park Addition of Davis Field Airport as shown in Exhibit “A,” to Tim Wheeler as recommended by the Airport Board on Sept. 26.

• Grant from Oklahoma Office Homeland Security for $1,569.15 to replace gasket seals for chlorine safety equipment and the Midland B240 equipment seal kit for chlorine tank cars.

• Directing staff to move forward with obtaining quotes and estimates on repair or reconstruction for the Martin Luther King Center and to identify and plan for available funding sources.

• Request from the Housing Authority to waive the city’s portion of “Payment in Lieu of Taxes" for 2011 in the amount of $12,264.96, in accordance with the Oklahoma Housing Authority Act.

• Proposal from Stericycle Specialty Waste Solutions of Tulsa for household hazardous waste collection events to be held Oct. 20, 2012 and June 22, 2013.

• Motion to overturn the Historic Preservation Commission’s decision to deny a certificate of appropriateness and allow the demolition of 109 N. Second St.

• Convened an executive session to discuss the worker’s compensation claim of Donnie Bennett.
