William Herbert Shamblin, charged with child abuse by injury involving a 13-month-old in critical condition in a Tulsa hospital, is out of jail.
Shamblin, 27, posted a $100,000 bond Thursday evening.
He faces a crime punishable by not more than life in prison and/or not more than one year in county jail and/or a fine of not less than $500 or not more than $5,000.
An affidavit filed in the case states Shamblin said he caused injury to his girlfriend’s child by throwing the child in the air repeatedly.
He stated he knew that he hurt the child and didn’t tell anyone about the injury or get medical attention for the child, the police affidavit states.
The child was taken to the hospital by the mother, and the hospital called police.
