Results of an audit of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service’s evidence room has been completed, but results are not available.
The federal audit began in early August and was completed two weeks ago.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Special Agent Mike McCoy said the Professional Standards Division of the BIA in New Mexico has not submitted an investigation report on that audit.
The Cherokee Nation Marshal Service said several weeks ago it had requested the audit.
The request was for a review of evidence procedures, said Cherokee Nation Marshal Sharon Wright.
Her statement said the marshal service looked forward to the conclusion of the review and would revise its future procedures based on any recommendations.
