A Muskogee man was treated and released after a crash near mile marker 43 on the Muskogee Turnpike.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states a 2005 Chevrolet Roll Back Wrecker driven by Donald Eugene Brown, 44, was southbound on the shoulder about 2:50 p.m. Monday when it began a U-turn and was struck by another vehicle. Brown was taken to Eastar Health System with internal injuries, the release states.
The other vehicle was a 2005 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Dmitriy Yevchev, 41, of Jacksonville, Fla. Yevchev refused treatment at the scene.
The release states Brown was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected approximately 25 feet. Yevchev was wearing a seat belt, according to the release. Neither vehicle had airbags.
The cause of the collision was listed as “improper turn/u-turn” on the accident report.
