Senate President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman recently reappointed Sen. Kim David, R-Porter, to serve as chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, a media release states.
After getting elected in 2010, David served as vice chair of the committee. She then was appointed chairwoman for the 2012 session.
“I’m honored to have been entrusted once again with this great responsibility. Pro Tem Bingman and my colleagues’ faith and trust in me is humbling,” David said. “This committee oversees the budgets of 11 state agencies with combined appropriations of nearly $2 billion, or just under one-third of the state budget. These agencies, in one way or another, touch the lives of every citizen in Oklahoma, so it’s important to ensure that they are adequately funded.”
David was also appointed to serve as the vice chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee.
She will also serve on the Health and Human Services, Finance, Appropriations and Rules Committees.
