During its regular meeting Monday, the Muskogee City Council took the following actions.
CONSENT AGENDA
Approved:
• Claims for all city departments July 16 through Aug. 3.
• Agreement between city of Muskogee and Michael Allen Riley Architecture PLLC for improvements to Greenhill Cemetery.
• Recommendations concerning future uses of Muskogee Fairgrounds and approved Aug. 7 at the Public Works Committee meeting.
• Request to apply for federal assistance to the Federal Aviation Administration for Davis Field Airport taxiway rehabilitation in the amount of $2,155,752.
• Final payment to Vance Brothers in the amount of $15,649.96 for microsurfacing projects completed in Zone IV.
• Request to accept grant from Oklahoma Office Homeland Security for $1,823.27 to repair tent struts.
• Agreement between the city of Muskogee and the Muskogee County Council of Youth Services Inc. to oversee operations of the Juvenile Community Service Program.
• Receipt of donated funds for the month of July to the city’s Animal Shelter Sponsorship Program.
• Creation of a committee to consider revisions to the rules of decorum and procedures for City Council meetings.
• Request to apply for Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission grant to help fund Davis Field Airport taxiway rehabilitation in the amount of $122,145.
• Lowest or best bids for field materials for utility supply and water products.
REGULAR AGENDA
Approved:
• Report concerning employee election results determining whether the American Federation of State, County, Municipal Employees Local 2465 was selected as the exclusive bargaining agent for eligible employees.
• Request from the city of Muskogee Foundation to hire Clothier and Company as auditor for the foundation.
• Amendment to an ordinance authorizing assistance with refuse collection for residents certified as temporarily or permanently disabled.
• Ordinance regulating certain acts of panhandlers that create a public or personal safety risk with amended recommendation for fines.
• Resolution directing the filing and notification of the publication of Supplement No. 8 to the Muskogee City Code of Ordinances.
• Appointments of three city councilors, two staffers and two residents to serve on a committee established to review policies and rules governing participation in public meetings.
• Appointment of James Gulley to the street improvement advisory committee to serve the remainder of a five-year term ending Dec. 31, 2015.
• Executive session to discuss and take possible action on negotiations with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 2465, and no subsequent action was taken.
• Executive session to discuss and take possible action to discuss the federal lawsuit styled Victoria Marie Lawson vs. the city of Muskogee and appointed Ward II Councilor Dan Hall as settlement representative.
