Three men arrested in Adair County slaying

Three men were arrested in connection with a body found by the side of the road Wednesday morning in Adair County, according to a media release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

The body of Steven Buckner, 24, of Stilwell was found by a motorist at approximately 7 a.m. lying on the side of Fog Hollow Road, just south of Bethel Road, 2 1/2 miles outside Stilwell.

“Obvious signs of trauma to his body led deputies to consider Buckner’s death a homicide,” the release states.

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office called in the OSBI to assist with the investigation.

After several hours of investigation, OSBI agents, sheriff’s deputies and Stilwell Police officers identified the three suspects: Michael Wolfe, 23; Carlos Locust, 24; and Dion Gonzales, 35.

Wolfe and Locust were arrested at a mobile home they shared at the Sierra Estates Trailer Park on Section Line Road near Oklahoma 100. Gonzales was arrested outside a home at 17929 W. Grandview Road in Tahlequah. All three were booked into the Adair County Jail on complaints of first-degree murder.
