Wallace’s campaign gets national notice

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee identified Rob Wallace’s bid for the 2nd Congressional District seat as an “emerging race.”

The designation recognizes the campaign’s competitiveness based on its ability to meet infrastructure and organizational goals.

“This is a great step for our campaign that shows we’re increasingly competitive and have strong grassroots support,” said Wallace, a former federal prosecutor from Fort Gibson. “As we continue to aggressively build our organization, our fundraising network and communicate our message about protecting the middle class and creating jobs, I’m confident our support will continue to grow.”

Wallace is one of two Democrats seeking the post being vacated by U.S. Rep. Dan Boren, D-Muskogee. The other is Wayne Herriman, a northeastern Oklahoma businessman.

State Rep. George Faught, Markwayne Mullin, Wayne Pettigrew, Dustin Rowe, Dwayne Thompson and Dakota Wood are competing for the Republican nomination.
