City man sentenced on federal gun charge

— A Muskogee man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a media release.

Rodney Wayne Walker, 29, was sentenced to 95 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Walker was indicted in July after an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Violent Crime Task Force, which includes the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, District 27 District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, the Tahlequah Police Department and the Muskogee Police Department.
