Scholar program deadline Feb. 1

The application period for the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation’s 2013 Sir Alexander Fleming Scholar Program closes Feb. 1.

High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and Oklahoma residents at the time of high school graduation to qualify. Students who are selected for this competitive program will be paid and, if eligible, will receive free housing.

In addition to laboratory training, scholars will attend lectures by and have interaction with several OMRF researchers. Students selected as Fleming scholars will spend eight weeks working in OMRF’s state-of-the-art research laboratories alongside senior-level scientists.
