The Cherokee Nation announced two separate real estate transactions Tuesday in a media release.
The Cherokee Nation finalized an agreement to purchase the Oaks Village Center on Muskogee Avenue. The 16,167-square-foot property, acquired for under market value, will be the future home of multiple Cherokee Nation programs. Closing on the property is expected in the next 120 days.
Cherokee Nation Businesses negotiated the terms of the property acquisition and the Cherokee Nation is making the purchase.
Additionally, the Cherokee Nation purchased a 113-acre tract of land contiguous to the Cherokee Nation tribal complex and cultural grounds. The land will be used for new housing development and will also provide the Cherokee Marshal Service a permanent practice range.
