A Checotah man was injured Tuesday when he ran into the back of a tractor-trailer rig on Interstate 40, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Kenneth Vogt, 67, was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to OHP, Vogt was injured about 8:20 a.m. about 1 1/2 miles west of Checotah in McIntosh County. Vogt was driving a 2004 Dodge pickup eastbound, as was a 2007 Peterbilt driven by Robert Maag, 48, of Huntsville, Calif. The Peterbilt had a blowout and was pulling to the shoulder of the highway when Vogt ran into the back of it. Both men were wearing seat belts, the report states.
