Friends of Scouting kicked off their annual fundraising campaign, and this year, the campaign is chaired by Daniel T. Miller of Edward Jones Investments.
Committee members will be working within the community over the next month to acquire donations for local Boy Scouting. Funds will be used to maintain the facilities and programs in the district.
This year's team captains are Jim Eaton, Lillian Jayne, John Griffin and Glenn Scott. The team members are Andy Anderson, Lee Buddrus, Pat Green, Roger Bell, Dwayne Briley, Ponie McCrary, Shirley Hilton, Dr. James Baker, Roger Hilfiger, Earnie Gilder, Derek Gibson, Ben Herrill, Nick Thompson and Dr. Tim Robison.
“As we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Boy Scouts, we are hoping to see strong support from the community,” Miller said. “Scouting is a great opportunity for young boys to build great character, and to learn diverse skills that will last a lifetime. I believe the community will step up and support it's youth by donating to this drive.”
The fundraising campaign ends April 5. To donate, contact one of the committee members or Daniel T. Miller: 683-3801.
