<font color=green>P.M. UPDATE: </font>Muskogee man sentenced to federal prison

Ted Donovan Hindsley, 39, was sentenced Wednesday to 120 months in prison to be followed by 36 months of supervised release for possession of unregistered firearms, said Sheldon J. Sperling, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Charges arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Hindsley was indicted in June and pled guilty Dec. 4.

On March 26, 2009, Muskogee police received information as to where they could locate Hindsley, who had several outstanding felony arrest warrants. When officers arrived, they found Hindsley asleep inside. When he was awakened and searched, officers removed a loaded .357-caliber revolver from Hindsley’s right front pocket and a loaded .25-caliber semiautomatic pistol in his back left pocket.

Police officers also recovered three sawed-off, unregistered shotguns and one rifle that Hindsley had concealed in two bags inside a chest.
