Two Muldrow men remained hospitalized Monday afternoon after the truck they were riding in crashed into an embankment south of Roland early Sunday morning.
Dustin Howell, 19, of Yukon was driving a 2004 pickup east on an unmarked dirt road at about 4:32 a.m. Sunday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. The truck failed to stop at a T-intersection and struck a dirt embankment on Paw Paw Road 4.8 miles south of Roland.
The OHP report said the driver had been drinking and that driving under the influence caused the collision. All seatbelts were in use.
Howell and two passengers — Glenn Cook, 44 of Muldrow, and Jessie Middleton, 17, of Muldrow, were transported to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.
Howell was treated for leg injuries and released.
Middleton had head, neck, internal and external injuries. Cook had leg injuries.
