Muskogee City Council - at a glance 8.28.12

— During its regular meeting Monday, the Muskogee City Council:

CONSENT AGENDA

Approved:

• Claims for all city departments July 16 through Aug. 3.

• Acceptance of the 2012 Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $36,147 by the Muskogee Police Department and authorize the mayor and city clerk to execute the grant agreement with the Muskogee County Sheriff's Office.

• Contract between American Demolition & Site Services LLC and the city of Muskogee for the Community Development Block Grant Demolition Bid Group 33 in the amount of $111,512.

• Resolution declaring property located on North Cherokee Street and close to Jefferson Street as surplus to the needs of the city and authorizing the sale of the property to Carolyn Marie Green.

• Resolution declaring property located on Dayton Street and close to North K Street as surplus to the needs of the city and authorizing the sale of the property to Edward Lee and Anita Skelton.

• Resolution declaring property located at the corner of Court Street and North 28th Street as surplus to the needs of the city and authorizing the sale of the property to Muskogee Housing Authority.

• Final payment in the amount of $1,718.08 to Tonto Construction Inc., for construction of the Civitan Park drainage improvements.

• Acceptance of a $150,400 grant from the Oklahoma Recreation Trail Fund grant for Ruby Park trail improvements project.

• Acceptance of a $149,010 grant award for land and water conservation funds for the proposed Beckman Park improvements project.

• Contract in the amount of $27,000 with Planning Design Group for landscape architectural services for the proposed Beckman Park improvements.

• Resolution authorizing the city of Muskogee Animal Shelter to waive the adoption fee established in Schedule A of the Muskogee Code of Ordinances and use donations received to fund transportation of animals for out-of-state adoptions.

• Amendment No. 1 to service agreement with Garver Engineering regarding 24th Street improvements from Okmulgee Avenue to Shawnee Bypass and Martin Luther King Street improvements from 12th to 24th streets.

• Contract in the amount of $20,750 with Alaback Design Associates for landscape architectural services for Ruby Park Phase III improvements.



REGULAR AGENDA

Approved:

• Resolution to amend the city’s land use map, accommodating a request to rezone an area west of Eastpointe Drive from transitional residential to light industrial district for the proposed expansion of Truenorth Leasing LLC.

• Ordinance rezoning property located west of Eastpointe Drive from agricultural to light industrial district to allow for the proposed expansion of an existing business, Truenorth Leasing LLC.

• Resolution to accept grant offer in the amount of $2,155,752 for Taxiway Charlie project at Davis Field.

• Recommendation to approve tort claim filed by Glover & Associates in the amount of $6,791.33.

• Recommendation to approve tort claim filed by Muscogee (Creek) Nation in the amount of $23,656.

• Recommendation to take no action on a lawsuit styled Greuel, et al. vs. City of Muskogee filed in Muskogee County District Court.
