Man arrested in thefts

Suspect confesses; deputies recover items

A man suspected of the recent theft of cattle panels in Porter and Okay was arrested by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office.

Major Gary Handley said Michael Lee Roy Warren confessed to stealing panels reported missing last month.

Warren was booked into the Wagoner County Detention Facility on $10,000 bond. Online court records show Warren was charged Nov. 5 with unrelated felony counts of:

• Grand Larceny; and

• Larceny of a vessel.

Warren has not yet been charged with the thefts of the cattle panels.

Handley said Warren gave deputies an address in Muskogee where the cattle panels had been placed. At the address, Wagoner and Muskogee County deputies recovered 27 cattle panels and two walk-through gates belonging to Red Fork Investments.

When the panels were reported stolen, Handley said they were easily identifiable by horizontal markings on one of the bars.

The majority of the recovered panels had the markings on them, but a few had IDs ground off and were in the process of being repainted.

During the search, Handley said deputies recovered a utility trailer reported stolen out of Muskogee. The trailer contained several items which had been reported stolen as well.

That trailer is in Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office possession while the investigation into Warren and the address the property was found develops.

Warren is due to return to court Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. for the previous charges which allege he stole a boat belonging to Reginald and Debra Porter out of a dock at Sequoyah Bay State Park. When the boat was located, a nail puller and cigarette butt located on the boat were sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for a DNA test. The test’s results identified Warren, who lived at a Fort Gibson address about two miles from where the boat was reported stolen.
