Muskogee police are seeking the public’s help to find a man who robbed a clerk at a local gas station Friday morning.
The man approached the female clerk at Murphy USA, 1010 W. Shawnee Bypass, about 6:15 a.m. Friday and said he had a gun, police Lt. Bobby Lee said.
“The victim said he had something wrapped around his hand, but she was unsure what it was,” Lee said.
The man demanded money and tobacco products and then ran east toward Chili’s Grill & Bar, 950 W. Shawnee Bypass, Lee said.
“We have video surveillance of the suspect getting into a black or dark-colored vehicle,” he said.
The man is described as black, approximately 6 feet tall and slender. He wore a white, sleeveless shirt, khaki shorts and black-and-white tennis shoes.
The clerk was not injured.
“She did what she needed to do — she did what the suspect demanded,” Lee said.
Investigator Rob Frazier is obtaining all the videos from all the businesses near Walmart to see whether police can identify the man. Police said they don’t think he had an accomplice.
“We have no evidence anyone else was in the vehicle waiting,” Lee said.
