Cindy Acord of Muskogee gets a free flu shot from Amanda Cherry of Tulsa, an OSU-IT nursing student who helped at Boo on the Flu at Honor Heights Park. More than 1,100 shots had been given out by noon, said Ched Wetz, director of risk and compliance at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Shots are also available at the Muskogee County Health Department with:
• No charge for families with income less than 185 percent of the federal poverty level or adults 65 and older.
• No charge for children who have no health insurance, or are on SoonerCare or are Native American, Alaskan natives, or whose insurance does not cover vaccines.
• Otherwise the cost is $25 per dose.
