Honor society inducts 11 students at NSU

Northeastern State University’s Oklahoma Alpha Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon inducted 11 students into the honor society at a special ceremony Oct. 9 in Tahlequah.

The new initiates of Kappa Mu Epsilon include Harlie Adams, Sallisaw; Connor Allen, Tuttle; Emily DeMoss, Tahlequah; Sonny Downing, Tahlequah; Steven Feather, Fort Smith, Ark.; Mary Harper, Watts; Amanda Hartman, Tulsa; Keeli Garroutte Jordan, Claremore; JeAnna Philpot, Sallisaw; Steven Sly, Tahlequah; and James Townsend, Tahlequah.

Kappa Mu Epsilon is a national mathematics honor society.

Since 1931, 1,768 students and faculty members have been initiated into NSU’s Oklahoma Alpha chapter of KME. Dr. Joan E. Bell, professor of mathematics, serves as the faculty sponsor.
