A two-vehicle crash in Cherokee County sent two people to the hospital.
Jimmy William Toney, 40, of Park Hill and Gregory Ryan Jones, 24, of Watts were taken to Tahlequah City Hospital after the crash about 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Toney was treated and released from the hospital, the release states, while Jones was admitted with leg injuries. A TCH spokeswoman said an updated condition on Jones was unavailable Thursday.
A third person, Earlene Marie Lane, 39, of Tahlequah, refused treatment at the scene. Lane was a passenger in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Toney.
The report states Toney was driving northbound on Old River Road, less than a mile east of Tahlequah, when he failed to yield at a stop sign and traveled into the path of a Honda Civic driven by Jones. The report states seat belts were in use in both vehicles, and airbags deployed in both vehicles. The trooper report lists the condition of Toney as “drinking — ability impaired.”
