City man charged in federal court

A Muskogee man already charged in Muskogee County District Court with biting a deputy has been indicted in federal court for allegedly assaulting federal officers, according to a media release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

Zachary Ryan Rogers is accused in federal court of assaulting a special deputy United States Marshal and a deputy U.S. marshal during the same incident on Nov. 6.

Rogers, 21, was arrested following a two-hour pursuit. Police were looking for him for prior warrants: failure to register as a sex offender and parole violations.

If convicted in federal court, Rogers faces up to 20 years in prison and/or up to a $250,000 fine.
