Muskogee police have arrested one man they say robbed a gas station earlier this week and are looking for two more.
Muskogee police Lt. Bobby Lee said Willie Deon Washington, 20, was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Friday at 2301 Denver Ave.
“Investigator (Rob) Frazier was able to follow up on some real good leads,” Lee said. “That’s how we came up with the suspect information.”
Washington was booked into the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on a complaint of first-degree robbery, according to jail records.
Lee said several items of evidence were recovered from the address.
“We’re almost positive we’ve recovered the weapon used in the robbery, too,” Lee said.
Lee said investigators were seeking two more subjects they believe may have been involved in the robbery.
“It’s still an ongoing investigation,” Lee said. “It’s not over just because we arrested one guy.”
Police say Washington entered the Pop-N-Go gas station at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a “Halloween-type clown mask” on his head and a handgun.
The attendant said Washington grabbed a cash register drawer full of money and ran out of the store. The drawer and some of the money were found less than two blocks away in the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue.
