A.M. UPDATE: Muskogee woman one of more than 3,000 on damaged cruise ship

— A Muskogee woman employed by the Muscogee Creek Nation Casino is one of more than 3,000 passengers on a damaged cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico, according to a media release.

Misty Goad Brumm, 37, was set to return Monday on the Carnival Cruise ship Triumph, but a fire in the engine room left the ship stranded about 150 miles off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.

No injuries were reported in the fire, though Brumm told family passengers had been given bags to use the bathroom in due to toilet failure on the ship.

As of Tuesday morning, two boats were towing the Triumph toward Mobile, Ala. The ship is expected to arrive Thursday.
