Muskogee County Emergency Medical Service will be offering the following CPR classes during February. All classes are taught at the central office, 200 Callahan St. Cost of classes includes the required textbook and CPR card; pre-enrollment is required because of limited space.
• 9 a.m. Feb. 4 and 18 — HealthCare Provider CPR. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the adult, child and infant victims. It also teaches the use of a variety of barrier devices and the use of an automatic external defibrillator. Class length is approximately six hours.
• 9 a.m. Feb. 11 and 25 — Heartsaver CPR for the adult victim. This class teaches the fundamentals of doing CPR on the adult victim. Class length approximately two hours.
• 11 a.m. Feb. 11 and 25 — First aid for the adult victim. This class teaches the fundamentals of emergency first aid. Subjects covered include: Medical emergencies, injuries and environmental emergencies. Class length is approximately three hours.
• 2 p.m. Feb. 25 — Pediatric CPR/first aid for the day care provider. This class teaches the fundamentals of first aid and performing CPR on the infant and child victim and meets the requirements for the Department of Human Services for the childcare center. Class length is approximately three hours.
