Two men have been arrested for allegedly robbing the 7 Express convenience store clerk at gunpoint, said Lt. Bobby Lee of the Muskogee Police Department.
Andra Dshaun Morton II, 25, and Beainco Cox, 24, were arrested Saturday and booked into the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on complaints of armed robbery, Lee states in a media release.
The robber, who was carrying a handgun, entered the 7 Express at 3225 S. Cherokee Drive about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. The clerk was knocked to the floor but was not injured. The robber got away with a small amount of cash, Lee said Friday.
Another man had been in the store a couple of minutes prior to the robbery. Police were not sure if he was a possible witness or an accomplice, he said.
Investigators Mark Ridley and Rob Frazier were able to identify Morton and Cox, who were possibly involved in the robbery. After further investigation, police recovered physical evidence, and Cox and Morton were arrested at approximately 3 p.m. in Webbers Falls, Lee said.
Investigators also seized a vehicle possibly involved in the robbery. After obtaining a search warrant, police plan to conduct a search of the vehicle.
Morton had an outstanding warrant for failure to pay on convictions of three misdemeanors: driving under the influence, transporting an opened container and driving without a license, according to online court records. He also has a prior conviction in Cleveland County for second-degree burglary and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
