Three Checotah children were injured when a vehicle they were in was struck by a tractor-trailer rig, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The report states a 2008 Chevrolet driven by Brenda Henricks, 57, of Checotah was driving a 2008 Chevrolet westbound on a county road at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 69, half a mile south of Muskogee when it was struck by a 2005 International tractor-trailer rig driven by Sean McCray, 26, of Grand Prairie, Texas.
According to OHP, Henricks failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled in front of the tractor-trailer rig, which struck them from behind. Henricks and passenger, Jason Fowler, 32, of Checotah, were not injured.
Three children, Noah Shepherd, 6, Hunter Lane, 4, and Leland Fowler, 7, were transported to Eastar Health System where they were treated and released as of Thursday, a hospital spokesman said.
McCray was not injured.
The trooper’s report said no one in the Chevrolet was wearing a seat belt. Airbags did not deploy in either vehicle.
