Man, wife in critical condition after shooting

County law enforcers are seeking answers after two Muskogee people were hospitalized following a double-shooting Friday.

A man called 911 at 3:33 p.m. from 2405 N. 32nd St., #68, and said he and his wife had been shot. Dispatch logs state the man was unresponsive less than a minute after making the phone call.

Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Bert Poole said two people, a man and a woman with gunshot wounds, were removed from the house and taken to a Tulsa hospital.

Both people were alive late Friday evening, but were in critical condition, said Investigator Roy Banks.

A mailbox outside the mobile home bore the name “Perry,” and neighbors said two people named Darrell and April Perry lived inside the residence. Sheriff’s office investigators would not say if those were the wounded people. Another neighbor said a third man, whose name she did not know, had been living at the address with the Perrys.

Poole said investigators entered the mobile home just before 7 p.m. after obtaining a search warrant. Poole was unsure of the condition of the two wounded people and did not want to speculate on the number of times they’d been shot.

Poole said deputies and police officers had located a blue Dodge Neon neighbors said belonged to the Perrys, but it was unclear how or if it was connected to the shooting. Law enforcers asked neighbors if they’d seen the car leave the address in the time following the shooting being reported.

Muskogee Police Department officers were first on the scene, but the address where the shooting occurred fell outside city limits. The first row of mobile homes at the park are in city jurisdiction, Banks said. The other three rows are in the county.
