Education group receives award

Members of the Muskogee Area Educational Consortium celebrate winning the Crossing Borders Collaboration Award given at the recent Northeast Oklahoma Regional Alliance Summit. The consortium won the $5,000 award for its collaborative work with public schools, technology centers, colleges and universities, and business/industry. Accepting the check at a recent meeting at Oklahoma School for the Blind are, from left, Mike Jackson, Connors State College; Marie Seabolt, Muskogee City-County Port Authority; Jim Adams, Oklahoma School for the Blind; Carolyn Sheppard, Oklahoma School for the Blind; Mike Garde, Muskogee Public Schools; Sue Godwin, Indian Capital Technology Center; Robert Brown, Bacone College; Kaylin Coody, Hilldale Public Schools; Melony Carey, Muskogee Public Schools; and Tim McElroy, Northeastern State University. The consortium will use the award to help support activities such as its annual Math and Engineering Fair.
