Mary Doerner of Muskogee was treated and released from the hospital Friday after a four-vehicle accident on U.S. 69 and West Okmulgee Avenue.
Her husband, John Doerner, 84, was cited for careless driving after he failed to see the vehicle in front of him was stopped at a stop sign.
Doerner drove his 2003 Buick Century into the back of a silver Toyota Corolla stopped at a stop light as Doerner was trying to change lanes, he told police shortly after the 10:30 a.m. accident. No one in the Corolla was injured.
The Corolla was pushed into the back of a 2008 Ultra Classic Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The driver of the Harley, Tom Meade of Houston, said his ankle and leg were sore but he didn’t need medical treatment.
Doerner said he didn’t realize the other cars were stopped. He also hit the left rear fender of a 2008 blue Ford pickup as he tried to swerve into the lane west of him. That driver was not injured.
