MPS uses new process to identify top staff, teachers

Muskogee Public Schools has a new process for selecting Teacher of the Month and Support Employee of the Month. Under the new process, individuals residing in the MPS district can nominate candidates online. The selection is then made by support and certified committees based on a criteria of excellence that includes exceeding expectations, community involvement, exceptional teamwork and innovative ideas.

September

• Teachers of the Month — Patricia Brewster, Harris-Jobe Elementary and Emily Wasson, Rougher Alternative Academy.

• Support Employees of the Month — Kim Hall, CNS Warehouse and Kathy Rigney, Athletics Secretary.

October

• Teachers of the Month — Kristi Goodwin, Ben Franklin Science Academy and Angie Hillmon, Muskogee High School.

• Support Employees of the Month — Barbara Alexander, Sadler Arts Academy and Bryant Wiedel, Harris-Jobe Elementary.

To nominate a teacher or support employee, go to www.mpsi20.org and click on the “Community” tab. Complete nomination guidelines can be found there.

Two teachers and two support employees are recognized every month at the MPS Board of Education meeting until May.
