P.M. UPDATE: Vice presidential forum set for Thursday

— The Oklahoma Republican Party will play host Thursday to a 2012 Vice Presidential Debate Community Forum at Buffalo Wild Wings, 1130 W. Shawnee Bypass. Similar events are being planned in Claremore and McAlester.

Organizers are reaching out to Republicans, Democrats and Independents as well as focusing on a strong turnout by the young people in the area. High school classes are encouraged to attend and participate in the event.

A moderator and two panelists will ask a series of questions before the debate and record audience responses. During the debate’s commercial breaks the moderator will ask for feedback. Post-debate questions will gauge any change of opinions.

The vice presidential debate will feature Democratic Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, who is competing on the Republican ticket. The forum begins at 7 p.m. Thursday.
