Man reports shooting intruder; suspect held

— A Muskogee man told police he shot an intruder late Saturday when the intruder illegally entered the man's home in the 600 block of Kankakee Street.

Police found the injured suspect shortly after, who was taken to Muskogee Regional Medical Center where he was stabilized.

Police have not released the suspect's name or the name of the home’s resident, whom they described as an "elderly disabled veteran."

Police investigators don't believe the housholder did anything criminal, Cpl. Pedro Zardeneta said. The injured man will face a complaint of first-degree burglary.
