Two inmates who had escaped from Jackie Brannon Correctional Center made a stop in Muskogee before they were apprehended in Arkansas with two Wagoner women.

Prison officials determined Wednesday morning that Terry Buckley, 27, and Jeffery Walker, 23, were missing, said JBCC Warden’s Assistant Laurie Martin.

Both inmates were taken into custody in Palestine, Ark., near the state’s border with Tennessee, along with two Wagoner women who allegedly helped them escape, Martin said.

James Holloway of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force said after the two escaped JBCC, they stopped in Muskogee and got a motel room.

“They stopped just long enough to change clothes,” Holloway said. “That’s how we got a lead on them. They changed and left their inmate clothes behind.”

Holloway said representatives from the motel called the Muskogee Police Department, which then contacted the prison and U.S. marshals.

The inmates and the two women got another motel room when they arrived in Palestine, Holloway said.

“A 9 mm was found at the scene,” Holloway said.

Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford said one of the women is claiming ownership of the gun.

Early Wednesday morning, Buckley and Walker were allegedly observed running from JBCC and getting into a silver car, Martin said.

Both Buckley and Walker were charged Wednesday in Pittsburg County District Court with escape from a penal institution.

Bedford said he expects charges to be filed against the two women in Pittsburg County District Court.

Walker began serving time at JBCC in April 2011, according to the Department of Corrections. In April 2009, Walker was sentenced to five years for robbery with firearm. He was set to be released in April.

Buckley began serving time at JBCC in July 2008, according to DOC. In June 2008, Buckley was sentenced to 15 years for a drug-related conviction. He has multiple felony convictions. He has a parole hearing scheduled in December.

A third inmate, Alvin Boyer, 27, escaped the facility the morning of Oct. 26 and remained at largeas of Thursday evening.

“We are following every lead we have,” Martin said. “We’re working with multiple law enforcement agencies. We’ve got people on the ground, on the road, and the dogs are out and trying to track him.”

Boyer began serving time at JBCC on Sept. 22, 2011, according to DOC. In July 2011, Boyer was sentenced to 2,982 days for multiple firearm and drug-related felony convictions.

Boyer, a white male, is covered in tattoos. Under his left eye are two teardrop tattoos, and under his right eye is another tattoo. Boyer also has tattoos covering his neck, and those include the word “Kracker” on the right side of his neck and a swastika.
