A contract has been awarded to repair a local bridge in Muskogee County, said State Sen. Garrison and State Rep. Jerry McPeak.
A bridge on U.S. 64 over Oklahoma 165 (Peak Boulevard) had been repaired in the past couple of years. Since that time, another vehicle has struck the bridge and damaged it, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The pre-construction conference was held Thursday morning, and construction should begin soon.
The westbound side of Peak Boulevard under the bridge will be closed while work takes place.
The State Transportation Commission awarded the $65,000 contract on the project to B& B Construction Service J.T., Inc. The Clayton company was the lowest of three bidders for the job.
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within four weeks.
