District 27 Drug Task Force members worked with the Tahlequah Police Department SWAT team this week to arrest two people on drug-related offenses.
According to investigators, agents served a state search warrant at the home of Lonnie David Thornton, 59, on 523 Road, and arrested Thornton and Robin Ranae Truitt, 50. Investigators had received information that illegal drug activity might be occurring in the home.
Authorities said they found a plastic bottle containing a clear, two-layer liquid; numerous smoking devices containing residue; a bag with approximately 1 gram of a white, powdery substance; cut plastic straws with residue; and several bullets.
Investigators said they also found a “time-released fuse” in the home.
Thornton and Truitt were both booked on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.
Thornton and Truitt were both held at the Cherokee County Detention Center on $20,000 bonds.
