FSA to host meeting on Average Crop Revenue

Muskogee and Wagoner County producers are invited to attend an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wagoner Civic Center, 301 S. Grant St., to review and discuss the new Average Crop Revenue (ACRE) election available under the 2008 Farm Bill commodity programs (DCP/ACRE), said Brian Hisey, CED.

Representatives from the OSU Agricultural Economics Department/Extension Service will present information on OSU's ACRE worksheet/calculator.

The ACRE calculator is designed as a tool to assist producers in making decisions on individual farms.

A lot has been written in various farm publications, but this will be an opportunity to obtain information about how ACRE fits into the Oklahoma landscape and into your operation, Hisey said.

In addition, NRCS will provide information on the new Green Seeker option under the EQIP program.
