OKMULGEE — The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Election Board held the 2009 National Council Candidate filing period this week for seats that are open for re-election.
Seats B, D and F are the open two-year seats for the eight districts within the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. The Wagoner District is one of the eight districts that have one seat with a four-year term. (I) designates the incumbent. The unofficial candidate filing results are as follows:
• Creek District, Seat B — George Tiger, Larry Joe Cahwee (I), Monty L. Bunny.
• McIntosh District, Seat B — Anthony Notaro, Adam Jones III (I), Bobby Sullivan.
• Okfuskee District, Seat B — Lena Wind (I), Mary (Severs) Lee, Nancy West Watson.
• Tukvpvtce District, Seat B — Thomas Yahola (I).
• Okmulgee District, Seat B — Jeff Fife, Keeper Johnson (I).
• Okmulgee District, Seat D — Carmen Tecumseh-Williams (I), David B. Lewis Jr., Pearl M. Thomas, Rebecca June Torres.
• Tulsa District, Seat B — Cherrah Quiett (I), Carolyn Burgess Billy.
• Tulsa District, Seat D — Sam Alexander (I).
• Tulsa District, Seat F — Carol McHenry-Williams, Kara Medina (I), Richard E “Rick” Wilde.
Muskogee District, Seat B — Eddie LaGrone (I).
