Testimony to begin in murder trial
Testimony is expected to begin today in the first-degree murder trial of Clinton Riley Potts, 34, of Hitchita.
Potts is charged in the December 2004 beating death of Gregory Leroy Clark, 35, of Boynton.
Defense attorney Rex Earl Starr said jury selection began Monday and went through Wednesday in Muskogee County District Court.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Clark was found face down in the yard of his home about five miles south of Boynton. He was shot in both arms before he was beaten in the head with bricks, according to court filings.
Clark was found dead by his estranged wife, who went to his home after learning he had not shown up for work, prosecutors said.
