Carroll Payne thought when she moved next door to her son and daughter-in-law Kelly and Joy Payne, that she would really enjoy their swimming pool.
She does.
But not nearly as much as her yellow Labrador Sadie and their chocolate Lab, Wyatt.
The two likely enjoy the pool more than any of the Payne children, said Clay Payne, son of Kelly and Joy.
The acreage where Carroll and Dexter Payne used to live had a pond, and any time the Paynes were out mowing, Sadie would take a dip.
Now, Sadie gets all excited when Carroll takes her next door to play because she knows she and Wyatt are going to get into the pool.
The 2-year-old eagerly awaits on the end of the diving board for Carroll, Clay or another family member to toss a toy in the water for her to retrieve.
Wyatt doesn’t crowd her on the board. He stands beside the diving board, just as anxious to go after the tossed toy as she is.
The two never get tired of the water play, but Carroll worries they might be overdoing it sometimes and makes them take a rest.
Then, the diving duo is just as eager as at the start of play to see which of them can get to the toy first.
