A Muskogee man was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma for possession of stolen firearms, according to a media release.
Pierre Charvez Shipp, 20, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendant was indicted in February 2012 and pleaded guilty on March 16, 2012.
The indictment alleged that on or about Dec. 10, Shipp knowingly possessed and concealed stolen firearms that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce, while knowing and having reasonable cause to believe the firearms were stolen.
The release states Shipp’s sentence is non-parolable.
