Walgreens to acquire stores, close some

— Walgreens will acquire 144 stores currently operated as USA Drug, Super D Drug, May's Drug, Med-X and Drug Warehouse in Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The company will close some stores.

There is one Drug Warehouse in Muskogee at 32nd Street and Okmulgee Avenue and one in Tahlequah.

Managers at the Muskogee store said they could not give out any information at this time.

Calls and emails to Walgreens, Drug Warehouse and Med-X Drug Stores corporate offices have not been returned.

However, the last day of business for the Med-X Drug Store on West Cherokee Street in Wagoner is Sept. 27, an employee who answered the phone said.
