A Muskogee teen who was shot during an alleged home invasion was charged Tuesday with attempted first-degree burglary.
R’Monte Nelson, 18, allegedly tried to enter the home of Lloyd and Mary Macarty late Saturday by “attempting to forcibly break the outer door of a house occupied” by the Macartys.
Lloyd Macarty fired one shot through the door, striking Nelson in the abdomen.
Nelson is hospitalized, and will be jailed when released from the hospital. Macarty is not expected to face charges resulting from the shooting.
