The firefighters of the city of Muskogee are proud of our service to the city and its proud citizens.
July 19, 2010, was not just another day at the station, it was a day given to tragedy. The alarm was like the others, but the emergency was not. A fire with someone trapped inside — a firefighter’s worst fear.
We gave our all, we always will; we wish we could have done more. We never want to lose someone, but even our most valiant efforts are sometimes dictated by the emergency and events.
Our hearts break from tragedies like this, and we don’t forget the ones we lost, they are a part of us forever more.
Words are just words; we are forgiving to those who mourn and hurt.
It’s the heat of the moment, and we are in it with you.
So understand — “we understand.”
Thank you Muskogee, serving you and its citizens for over the last 100 plus years is an honor that we will continue to uphold.
