THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Thank you for showing paper’s faithfulness

— As an African Methodist Episcopal Church pastor for over 25 years, I have had the opportunity and privilege to serve in various metropolitan communities throughout the state of Oklahoma.

I have observed the different cultures and attitudes within our state in reference to spiritual and religious activities, and as a result of those I must acknowledge the moving sentiment shown by your newspaper on Christmas Day, not only did you place your article titled, “The Birth of Christ: A Child is Born,” in your newspaper, you arranged so that it would be on the front page!

This may not be a big thing to you, but with the atmosphere that we currently are experiencing in our country as to religious inclusions and/or exclusions, it was certainly refreshing, illuminating and a blessing to have waken up on Christmas morning and be a witness to your act of faithfulness.

Our Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”

God bless you, Phoenix News!
