I see where Barney Franks has finally agreed there is something wrong with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Now he says they need to be abolished.
Congress was warned in 2001, 2003 and 2005 by President Bush and his administration that these agencies were headed for trouble if the regulation of them was not changed.
Franks, Pelosi, Dodd, Walters and others ridiculed the idea there was something wrong with them. Well guess who was right?
The Wall Street bankers bought these worthless loans, causing them to have to be bailed out by the American taxpayers and creating the financial meltdown.
The housing crisis is still with us with several million homes for sale because people defaulted on their loans. These people in essence sabotaged the economy to win the impending election.
They need to be voted out and replaced by someone, Democrat or Republican, who puts the welfare of our country ahead of their political party.
