I’d like to see a good Democrat step up and run against U.S. Rep. Dan Boren and unseat him.
A state paper on Nov. 15 showed Boren’s voting record. In seven out of eight votes he sided with his Republican comrades of Oklahoma. One of his votes was against the health care plan.
I have voted for Boren in the past, but I will never vote for this Blue Dog Democrat again. If he is going to side with Republicans, then he should change parties. Too many Oklahomans are without health insurance, and to me it’s a very cold-hearted, unchristian thing to vote to deny health care to anyone.
As a lifelong yellow dog Democrat, I could never vote for a Republican or a Blue Dog, since it’s impossible to determine the lesser of two evils between a red elephant and a blue dog.
I’d also like to see a good progressive-minded, visionary Democrat run for and win the mayor position in Muskogee. This city has a lot of potential, but it will never be reached with the current leadership.
