Checotah Public School is once again running a bond issue, this time for a new high school
We are close to paying off the first bond for roofs and classrooms. I’d agree the first bond was necessary.
However, is it reasonable to locate the high school on the other side of town away from the other facilities since we just updated the gym and other buildings?
But my biggest problem is not having to pay for the bond over several years. It’s the fact that our superintendent and assistant superintendent don’t even live in the Checotah school district.
I believe they live in Warner and Eufaula. They are the two highest paid administrators in the district. I believe all our previous superintendents were required to live in the district.
How can they ask us to increase our taxes for the school when they are not even willing to live in our district?
Maybe they should find jobs in Warner and Eufaula.
